Thanks Gayle, I'm so please you noticed all that stuff. Honestly though, mostly just a grab shot. If I thought about the composition as such it would probably give me a headache! But I'll take good luck any day! :) Cheers, Kes

hi, this one jumped out at me and reminds me of a film still straight out of the Omen!...they should have toned some of their footage in this old newspaper tint...love the zoom burst, dof, the contrast of expressions and the way you framed the shot...good one,Kes! peace, gayle

Thanks Tim! Tried this on a variety of subjects without a tripod. With a tripod it seems the initial image could be crisper. However this shot probably had too much light to get a slow enough shutter speed to include that initial hesitation before zooming the lens. Some experimentation is needed here to see if the hesitation on either end of the zoom cycle would be of benefit. But yeah, just fun stuff! Kes

Great image- the shadows and light really create an atmosphere. And the two different expressions add such strength and character.

Hmmm that is quite a fun experiment! And to good effect too. With the face of the boy in the foreground being shaded by your shadow it creates the ability for my vision to proceed past him and on to your daughters face in the distance. Along with the zoom effect created by the manner of blurriness you have created. I also like the selection of sepia for this shot it makes it all the more interesting in the end

Hi Kes! Great portrait shot from your family, well choosed tones. Love the blurry effect, looks like a part of old film. Great play with shadow and light. Well done!
Have a nice day dear my friend, Robert

Hi Andre!
Ok, just 99 more to go and I'm stylin'! :)
I really preferred a darker brown toned shot, but UF presented it with hard color gradations (if that is the correct terminology). Anyway, I'm not real pleased with these tones...but I still like it a lot because it reminds me of film...somehow (I suppose the toning).
As it happened, I tried this technique on several subjects and a series is under consideration.
All the best, Kes

Hi Kes, I know it's intentional and all, but I can't say this is one of my favourites of yours. Maybe it will grow on me? I think sometimes when we do this kind of shot, they are better featured as a series all at once so as to get a feel for them. It reminds me of a quote I read.
One blurry image is a mistake. Two blurry images is an experiment. 100 blurry images is a "Style" :)
Can't remember who said that.
Andre
