This lovely young lady had applied her own makeup (not all that much other than the blueish purple eye makeup, with no photo shoot in mind). I hoped the dark blue beret would help lift the eyes with the shade of eye makeup she chose to wear. The brooch was a speedy after-thought...in fact it is a brooch and an earring stuffed into the brooch, as it was like a peacock feather coloured earrring.
By positioning the line of this "ornamentation" to the corner of her eye and allowing her hair to fall over the other eye, I hoped to punch up the colour and beauty. I think I succeeded... and we also made it in time for the train she was in a hurry to catch! LOL!
The sepia version is nice, and so are the black and whites, but for me, this colour shot was my choice for the day.
I so appreciate your thoughtful feedback, Bek, so thought you'd appreciate my telling you the story of the shoot, where this young lady is actually wearing a black and blue tracky top (lol... I hid it as best I could...) and is just squatting against the fence where a few plants grow over it...

Hey there Ani, I can't tell whether the brooch on your beret draws to her eyes, or her eyes draw to the brooch! I love that her eyeliner has a slight navy tint to match the beret. I am a HUGE fan of this in the sepia version...HUGE!! I love the colour in this, but am a sucker for sepia too. Beautiful work as always,

Yes, it was a very rushed shoot... only grabbed 4 frames as she was in need of a lift to the train station after having spent a couple of days with me. Oddly, it didn't occur to me over the days she spent to photograph her while we had time! Too busy "catching up"... lol...
I give credit to her professionalism as a model. She made this 10 minute shoot a breeze!
