A beautiful example of a very well balanced B&W image Paul.

This is the way I was taught to do B&W. A little pure white...a little pure black.... and lots of different variation in the mid greyscale.

A classic image!

Excellent capture that retains not only finest details of the main object itself, but also the almost ghosty atmosphere of an abandoned place. The wide aperture and the focus on the church separated it from the surroundings very very strongly and put it in the middle of interest of the spectator, but without diminishing the importance of the fact, that it is a church *in real existing* surroundings, and thus a real existing object. This way the image combines real existing elements with the suggestive elements that come out of an imaginary history in the mind of the spectator.

Perhaps a bit more of the surrounding and some placement of the church a bit more off center would have done good here - but I am not quite sure about that.

Excellent work, Paul.

The b&W helps portray the lonely, abandoned mood. I admire your skill to produce such crisp, vibrant B&W's.

WoW !! This very first image I see is beautiful . I love old buildings and the scenery is also great..looks like a few more old buildings in the BG. Images always look old / more dramatic in Blk./wht. to me..so I love the tones and the sky as well....Really well composed.
Excellent 7+++

Best Wishes,
Michele~

Wonderful aged feel to this one. You can imagine people from yesteryear milling around outside. the one giveaway is the plane trail in the sky, if that's what it is.

This abandoned architecture must have a great story to tell through those years been there, a high viewpoint picked up nicely the dramatic sky which is an excellent elements to enhances the composition a long with the selected tone which fit perfectly the atmosphere.
Another good work from you as usual.
