Hmmm... how did I miss this one (I actually haven't been around here that much lately). VERY nice work Peta. It reminds me of the new Bob Dylan CD cover (Modern Times) shot by well known Photog Ted Croner in the 1940's I believe. "Taxi, New York at Night" Check it out on Dylan's website, there's a connection - first thing I thought of when I saw this. Very nice job here, congrats on the award, MJ

Excellent shot, Peta. Well deserving of PoD award. Congratulations. I hope you had someone watching your gear if this is a self portrait. I wouldn't trust it on a busy Melbourne street. Or any street these days, sadly. Thanks for your comments on my photos. I fully understand your spider phobia. Believe it or not I have one too, but it isn't so bad if there's a camera and a LONG lens between it and me, although that's only for the big spiders. Little ones are O.K. Cheers, Ann.

Congrats Peta for the award. YOu really bought motion to a still picture. The lens distorsion (if I may call so)where the buildings seem to incline to the center works here. Have a nice weekend!

Hi Peta,
Excellent shot. I think the combination between static objects and dynamism is very well balanced. Good tonal range, too, and a creative way of drawing the attention to "herself" - You, I presume...:) Right there, in the center of the objects around her.
Cheers,
Hugo

i'm right when i say that you are one of the best here at usefilm!! This shot is just incredible, like if all at the crossroads was posign for you: the people, the building, the lights, the bus, they all are working to make your photo an incredible photo. Like the B&W choice and the little personal introduction to the shot.
