Great idea and an as great result! A wonderful original abstract! Colours mix in unexpected ways creating some whirling motion on the surface of the wine.It draws the eyes inside the glass.Very creative!

Hi Markus,
I've seen you with a similar glass of wine in your hand, but I'm not telling where. This one looks delicious & the transparency of the wine, complemented by that of the glass of similar color, makes a great photo, bordering on the abstract.
Thank you for your comment. I'll tell you how I did that photo. It was about 25 years ago. I picked up the plant in the field & as it has a tendency to disperse in the wind, I took it home covered with a pot. Than I lit the wall behind it & as light metering at that time was not exact, not to mention digital photography, with the ability to immediately see the result being non-existent, I bracketed. So you see that at that time I was much more enthusiastic than I am today.

Thanks, Lily. About the Linzertorte you are right. There is no cocoa or chocolate in it. Here is a recipe:
LINZER TORTE
1 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
2 lg. egg yolks
2 1/2 c. flour
10 oz. seedless raspberry preserves
4 egg whites
2 c. finely ground almonds or walnuts
1 c. sugar (to combine with nuts)
In bowl, beat butter and 1/2 cup sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg yolks and beat until well blended. Add flour and work with hands kneading until smooth. Press into 12x17 inch jelly roll pan. Bake 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees until lightly browned. Remove from oven and spread with raspberry preserves and set aside. Beat egg whites until stiff. Combine cup of sugar and nuts and fold into egg whites. Spread over cake. Put cake back in oven for 25 minutes. Cool slightly but cut while still very warm. Cut into squares and cool.

Hi Markus, I'm not a wine drinker but this glass of wine sure looks delicious and refreshing. Great idea you had, well executed. ps I have a question about an austrian dessert. I thought linzertorte is traditionally light without cocoa but someone insists it's the other way around. who is right?
