Personally I like the pole and the additional details. I have had cropped this image to focus on my main interest in the scene which was the mural. I would have liked to have gotten a tighter shot without the wire but that will have to wait until the summer.

This is quite good. Except.... I think a tighter frame would have made this VERY good.
A step or two to your right, and a step closer, to lose the pole and the wire and you would have had a much better composition. The wire is distracting and the pole is downright obtrusive.
Just MHO...
