Aw, thanks Melanie. I have to lean on my Usefilm Fashion consultants to know I hit the mark, so that means a lot to me.

I really, REALLY like this one Paul. It is different from your usual style, I think.
The sort of high key effect along witht he composition gives it a very edgey fashion feel. Nice work!

HI Paul! That was interesting news you had to tell. I´m a VERY curious person, and i would like to see the photos in those magazines. IF you can, please scan the pages and send to me so i can see them. For my curiousity only... write to my hotmail adress and i will give you my "real"... When a dream come true Paul - thats a real happiness. I knwo how it is to dream about other cameras and so... for me always cause there´s such needs all the time.
Kind regard, Jeanette

Honestly, Jeanette, this shot was poorly captured and heavily over-exposed, but it was the only frame from this angle. So...I tried to turn lemons into lemonaide. ;) I decided to push the blown-out image even farther in that direction by creating a second thresholds layer in Photoshop, and using it as a blending layer in Color Burn mode. Thus, the crushed blacks and pure whites.
As for my photography Grand Prize, it was actually a cash award (nearly $5,000) but I had, a couple months prior to winning, played with the Canon 20D at the camera store. I was in trouble, becuase compared to my existing Kodak DX6490, it was a flexible and FAST SLR camera. (like comparing a Vespa with a Ferrari). I thought about it so much I started dreaming about it. Seriously.
Once I was notified of winning, I didn't even wait for the check...I raced to the camera store the next morning, and bought the 20D, the 17-85 zoom, and the 580EX flash. I reserved some of cash award for Margaret to spend, as she had tipped me to the contest in the first place. I haven't regretted it!
I am happy to report that the current issue of San Antonio Woman Magazine has three articles containing my photos, and one of the articles on Contemporary art structures downtown has ELEVEN of my photos across three pages!
I love my day job, but when I wrap my fingers around Cammy, something special happens to my sense of vision: I stop 'seeing' and start 'searching'. I'm consumed.
Paul

I know i was "here before" but if i gonna write a constructive comment i would say that i like the eye-catchingness is this photo and the low angle. The stocking are cool and so also the dress as well as composition. I have noticed while shooting my self that i don´t like burnt out areas on skin or cloths.... a white sky is what you get with backlightning and also when you want a bright shiny appereance. But i had prefer a better tonality in the details and less burnt out areas. AS we say in sweden, straight translated, "i took you on your words" - with which i mean i follow your own question in your profile. I´m happy to know about your camera and the winning of an award where the camera was the prie. Congratulations!!!
Jeanette

Would never guess in a million years that this one was a "Lara" original. With that said love the look of it - great angle and comp, not quite real looking (which is good). This is the way to go...
