I am old enough to know by now that each person has their individual preferences about everything, including photographs, and that those preferences deserve airing and respect. You didn't offend me in the slightest, Ron, and I meant it when I said I would shoot another gladiola shot using your suggestion. Just watch! Anson

Anson, I hope that you were not offended by my comment. I don't know about the UF community just what I like. I'm glad that you chose not to do it and I'm glad that you told me so. Too many people take the critiques to heart and don't express themselves. Thank you.

Thanks for the constructive comment Ron. It would have been easy enough to exclude the out-of-focus glads but I chose not to do that. The UF community seems to prefer a little hint that the photo was taken in the field, rather than in a studio. I will take your advice and shoot some the other way. And yes, at 400 mm f8 doesn't provide much DOF. Anson

Excellent composition Anson. At F8 I would have thought that all the glads would be in focus. That is what I would have tried for against the lovely green bg. I would have PS the red / orange in the top left and left just green as my bg. Regards Ron.
