Great macro Ann - wonderful use of backlighting and fill in. The detail is great and the image well composed with great separation from the even background. Very well done!

Thank you, Laurie. The Birdwing is a native of tropical Queensland and are prolific in the Northern part, but I was thrilled to see a female exactly like this flying around my back garden a couple of months ago during the middle of summer. She came through a couple of times. I'd never seen one in the wild before so I was pretty excited. Cheers, Ann.

Thanks Pat. I'm actually selling this particular Tamron lens. I upgraded to a proper macro (Tamron again. Excellent lens.) and the new Canon 70-300mm which is a fantastic lens. I do miss the convenience of the 28-300mm, though. It's a pain having to change lenses all the time. Not to mention the dirt I've already got on my sensor after only four months. I do a lot of shooting with the long end of the 300 lens and I hate using tripods, so the Image Stabilising of the Canon was just what I needed. Otherwise the Tamron lens is great. Cheers, Ann.
