These children are happy, well fed and enjoy enormously strong family values. They have no TV to distract their imagination and the villages are filled with their laughter. The shame is that kids in our western world have to live like they do.

this image to me is the exact example of how anyone can interpret a photograph in a different way from the next person. How in a way photographs CAN lie, or at least be very enigmatic as to their context and meaning, especially when there is no accompanying comment. Michael above says "it is a shame kids should live like this"-he goes on teh assumption that this image is about poverty and deprivation. I had a completely opposite feeling-to me this image was about naturalness and freedom. The small person looks healthy and happy to me. WHO IS RIGHT?? COULD YOU TELL US???
