I saw this on the critique of the day. What a wonderful porfolio you have. This picture is superb, all the way from the details, lighting, composition, ect. How very majestic this bird looks cloaked in his royal red finery. Perfect!!! Kelly

A beautiful bird shot, Todd. Seeing your photo of a cardinal makes me very nostaligic for my old haunting grounds in the eastern U.S. Yours is a particularly pretty photo. Steve

Hi Todd. It's me again. I didn't realize that my comment was picked as a 'Featured Critique'. That means that your picture might have been featured on the Home Page. That's great as it is a wonderful shot. MAry

Hi Todd. Well, duh to me. I should have realized they were snowflakes. Now that I look back after your note, I see that. But, I didn't the first time. They did look like little white dots, which of course, snowflakes are. MAry

Hi Mary,
Your suggestions are always welcome. Thanks for taking the time to look.
Those small whitish dots are actually snowflakes. Your suggestion is a good one, if the dots were artifacts that did not belong. I may try removing them anyway, as there are very few in the picture. Thanks again for the idea.

Hi again, Todd. I just showed Paul your gorgeous picture as he is a bird man. Of course, he agrees it is a terrific picture. Do you mind if I make a suggestion? Before you print this out larger, take a look just to the right of his beak. His beak is pointing right to a small whitish spot. There is another one just up from it. Maybe I'm being over pernickity, but they seem to catch my eye as he does point to it. I'm just thinking that you might want to consider removing those two so there is nothing to distract from the beauty bird. Or, maybe I'm being a little too weird. MAry

Todd, it is fabulous! He stands out so dramatically against the greyish background. Grand composition with the diagonal branch. I know these guys are not easy to get. Your details are great. This is one for a Christmas card or a magazine. Superb. Mary

Hey Morgan,
I was about to send a search party! How have you been! Thanks for the kind words. I really like my new toy. It is so much more flexible than the S2.

Very nice background colour to go with the Cardinal Todd! I've yet to get a decent shot of a male cardinal. They are just so shy. As soon as I see one they fly away and hide in the thick of the bushes where you can't focus on them. One of these days I'll get one like this :) Andre
