Not worth mentioning it. This was a sea, but is now a lake, called Ijsselmeer. The reason why you don't see any flowers is because the time of the year, its freezing now, and flowers don't react so well to this kind of temperature. You'll have to wait till its spring again. And for the explanation............. you're very welcome. gr. Klaas

Well,I made just a #small# mistake ,about two hundred years..so these houses are about three centuries old..so effective way of building and probably reconstructing(or preserving).Anyway the image is great..I would only expect some flowers on the windows in Holland, although this is quite near the sea and probably position doesnćt permit that. Thanks for the explanation Meldijana

It was in fact the 17th century, Holland was doing very well in those days, thats why they called it golden age, or century. Take care, Klaas

That's interesting story,Klaas. The houses still have that golden tone under the clear daylight.I wonder if there are many so sunny days.Golden century must be XIX century, century of prosperity and fortune for that region. Kind regards Meldijana
