Really cool shot! I am in awe in anyone who can shoot lighting. Educate me: so I can put my camera on aperture priority on say, 12 and let the camera do the rest? Okay, or there is the 30sec way of doing it.

if you can set your shutter speed on open as long as you can! or once the photo absorbs enough light the shutter shuts.

Cool! :) One out of 45 ain't bad at all.
So how do you go about shooting lightning, then, apart from using a 30-second exposure? It's not something I have much chance to experiment with, so I'd love to know what settings you were using. Then I can be prepared for the next time there's a storm here!

it is a bit of luck, i took 45 photos a got one really nice one but each shot was taken with the lens open for 30sec. but thanks i love getting out in the storms bit of fun!!

Wow! Amazing timing on that one, Simon - what a fabulous shot! How did you manage that, did you have to shoot dozens of frames to get that one shot? Or did you get lucky? :)
