Thank you very much Aram for commenting. This was actually one of my most difficult shots, in terms of success rate. Many bad pictures, all I could get was a single crop :) Best regards, Ina

Thank you very much Gabriela! I have lots of these blue and white ceramics, these are a square vase and two round jars - the large one in the background is a bigger jar with a lid. I really need better lighting, my windows are tinted and the sunlight is never too good inside :)

Hi Ina! Beautiful blue patterns! I like how you composed this shot; the slight tilt fits very well here. *hugs*

You managed a beautiful crop here, dear Ina! This kind of china is my favourite!I love the angle you set the small vase as well as its shape. The mini reflection of the windoe in the left down corner is cute. I also like the two tonalities of blue (vase and plate behind it).Beautifully presented!

Hi Ann, I took over 20 shots and all I got is a small crop! The china reflects the sunshine, and most pictures have bright spots :-( - Check your email for some pictures of Niagara on the Lake, and thanks again for your in-depth comments, Cheers, Ina

I may have neglected to mention it but I thought the lighting here was great There are no visible harsh shadows in your image at all. All I see is the reflection from the window in the smaller vase on the left and that makes for a nice light interest. It gives the image a nice lift so it isn't flat. I see no problem with your natural lighting here at all. I read where you said you ended up with a lot of unusable photos cause you were avoiding harsh shadows. That's what I love about digital. I could never afford to do that with film and developing costs but with digital we can shoot and reshoot until we get what we are happy with. Gotta love it.

Cheers - Ann :)

Thanks very much Ann! I have a whole collection of these. I would like to take some more pictures with still life, but I don't like to use the flash, and the natural lighting inside here is terrible, I have to wait for the summer, or get some of my light stands which are buried somewhere in the basement. It's too much hassle :) Cheers, and thanks for your visits! Ina

Oooh Ina...I love blues. This is a complete turn about from those cymbal playing ghosties. :) I like the layering of patterns on patterns. The slight tilt is an interesting twist (pardon the pun) A very fresh and refreshing image. Makes for a beautiful abstract.

Cheers - Ann :)

Thanks Dave, I ended up with a lot of unuseable pictures, because I tried to avoid strong shadows and bright highlights :) Best regards, Ina

Well done still life, Ina! I like the way you've angled it a bit to add some interest. The way you've got the patterns on patterns adds as well.
Dave.

Hi Paolo, and thanks for your comment! I have been only once to Italy in Rome and Pompeii and a couple of hours in Napoli - not much! It was winter and it rained hard every day. I had my film camera, before digital :) Now it would be different! Best regards, Ina
