isn't that great? I like that connection we make as photographers with the subjects. I had an experience where I made eye contact with a rather large and intimidating big cat-- and I felt his power and intensity as he went from 0 - 60 in one second-- I'd have been lunch. The photo of that big cat is in my animal section I think. I have other moments like the one you mention here -- more sweet and connected vs being lunged at. :)

What a special image! Love the angled line of the ground, the reflection in the eye, the leopard's inquisitive gaze - 300mm is not all that potent: how close were you to to the animal? So glad your patience paid off - this is just lovely!

This really is an impressive photo. The light and soft colors make it look cute and cuddly. But there is a deffinate look of feirceness in its eyes. Great composition and DOF. Good choice of lense.

This is a really great photo. The soft colors, shallow depth of field and detail make this quite the stand out image. The catch light in the eyes helps bring the cat to life in my mind. My eyes lock on to his/hers and I can clearly see why you titled it "Are you still around?". Very nice work technically and with the titling.
