About
This particular morning dawned grey and snowy. I walked down to the river to find a sheltered area where I might capture some detail shots. It began to snow quite heavily and I realised that I would only be able to shoot with the camera pointing down! I found this group of rocks that would normally present little interest but the snow had turned them into a natural abstract. I would have liked to use a polariser to reduce the reflections but it was snowing too heavily to have any chance of fitting filters without them getting wet. By not using a warm-up filter I have brought out the blue in the scene which suits it well. The long exposure has blurred movement in the water and produced some interesting patterns of lighter blue. By the time I'd finished the camera was covered in snow but it's interesting that the long exposure in dark conditions has made the falling snow invisible.
A nice shot but a wee bit too blue (could be the jpeg con). Would mabey desaturate a little or even change to b&w. A fine image that I would hang on my wall.
