Janet,
You got an "overdose of joy" in this shot!

Thank you so much, Andre, and I would have to agree with you. It is so hard to get this boy to look anywhere near the camera! Capturing the joy on his face isn't easy....so I do like it better, too :)

Janet,
I just had to comment on this one again because it stands out so well in the thumbnails. It might even be a better shot than the one you won the BIP for ?

Of course he had to have his turn! Another wonderful family shot composed in your lovely mono tones my sweet Janet with a perfect crop and dof. I love the way you have caught his eyes and briefly interupted any intents against Boxy. Big hugs and best wishes....Ray

You are so right, Andre! I like it too when it's done to 'fit' the image and not just 'done' to do it! I know a lot of people don't like it...oh well!! I have a few in my portfolio :)

Hi Janet,
Probably most people would frown on doing a colourization of the bug, simply because it has been done so much in the past. I still get a kick out of doing that sort of thing anyway. We can't always create absolutely original ideas all the time. :) I'm sure it would add even a little more "cute" to this kind of image. Not that it needs more "cute".

Hi Andre!
Really didn't give it much thought, but the bug is mostly black with just a small red stripe...not sure if it would make a big difference. Hmmmmm...though a ladybug would look neat like that.... :)
Thanks for your comment and suggestions...really appreciate it!

Your kids are far more braver than mine. They must get their 'courage' from me. Behind the lens is about as close as I'd like to get thank you very much...

Perfect tones and dof, as always Janet. You're certainly one of a kind lady. I have to admit, I've tried but simply cannot get your delicious results (sigh)... oh well, maybe that's a good thing. Can't have everyone doing what you do. How boring life would be then, eh? Nope, I'm very content to keep coming back here and ogling your dreamy work :)

Jannet, I have been away from UF for a while, and recently spent some time catching up. I love your Boxy story and pictures. Your B&W pictures of your children are always so inspiring. Thank you.

This series is excellent Janet!
I know it's a little cliche, but did you think of colourizing the bug?

boxy's still horrible, but this is another great photo... i would have sharpened it a bit, even if it would have added more noise...

I love his happy expression in the background. Itsn't it great how much fun kids can have with these little creatures that we just want out of the house.
