Taken on a tree strewn stretch of the Lake Superior shoreline near Silver City. Took advantage of the strong golden lighting to capture these colors on several pieces of driftwood before turning around to capture the sunset. Tell me what you think. JB
John, the long exposure works quite well giving a very nice soft quality to the water. The top of the frame, maybe the top third or so, adds essentially nothing and appears to even be a little over exposed. I'd crop some from the top and probably a little from the left as well to make the logs the most prominent object in your composition.
I think these trees and the wonderful light provided excellent opportunities for an awesome picture. The long exposure creathes this creamy effect on the water and is really brilliant.
However I think I would have preferred if the trees were placed differently, coming in the picture through the upper left corner.
Also the color of the sand seems very nice and goes nicely with the soft blue of the cremy water. i would have preferred to either more, or none at all.
I also find the upper part of the image a little bit too bright, but you would loose some detail in the tree with anunder-exposure.
