Very stark and dramatic -- just like the season. It does seem like those tracks are headed right into another world.

Very interesting concept. It took me a minute to figure out the double switch. The colors are great too.

Fantastic macro -- it looks like something from another planet. I really like the deep, rich earth tones. And the ant is so sharp. Well done.

What a remarkable shot. It's more interesting because he's so slow off the water (wheels up, I see.) I can't get over the look on his face and those yellow eyes.

Very unusual picture. It showcases the essence of how difficult it can be to capture these critters. Makes the other, very clear macro shot of the chickadee even more impressive. I like the color change too -- although I admit that when I read your comment that this was "another chickadee" I was wondering where on earth you'd found a blue/green one. :-)

I just love chickadees and I love the superb detail in this picture. You were so lucky to get such a close shot. This one must have been quite used to humans to perch on your husband's hands.

It really does look like a window. I like the gloominess of the sky -- it creates the mood for the picture and goes well with the gray of the bars.

Cliff: Thanks for the tip. I figured it had to be something like that -- its very difficult to add such a perfect background in the computer. I do something similar on some of my pictures but I use colored construction paper and it's not as steady as plywood. I'll have to try it your way.
