Nice capture . . . I can feel the motion and speed quite well. Too bad he wouldn't lift his head or turn for a better composed capture! Color is well conveyed as well!

Thanx for appreciating! The flower was clicked in the natural black background and later on the red frame effect was produced using Photoshop!

Lot of thanks for the critique. I agree with you about the sharpness. This shot is one of my test shots with a new D200 and with a new 105 macro lens.
I will try to click some sharp macro pictures in near future considering your advise.

I like the lighting and the clean black background. But I think too much is out of focus, and it seems a bit soft. There are ways to increase the depth of the focus. One way, with film or the sort of high megapixel digicams which are common, would just be to get the flower in best spot for the camera, even if it doesn't fill the frame, and simply crop to it.
