Everything about this image is in full swing here. The composition, the colours...it's all very beautiful. Like a painting. Very nice image.

Cheers - Ann

Nice shot. I like the contrast between the white berried and the fence.

Thanks for your comment Tabitha, and welcome to UseFilm. I have been a member for only one month, and it has become an addiction. I look forward to more great shots from you.

Thanks Ali. The sky was incredible that day, unfotunately, the water was too rough after the storm to give any reflection. By the way, I had to check out your portfolio and, for a beginner (like myself) you have a very good eye and wonderful imagination. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the comment and feedback. I tried as hard as possible to cut the sky out of the shot entirely, but I couldn't do it without losing some of the motion of the water in the foreground. I think the sky should have more presence, perhaps as my Pshop skills improve, I will someday be able to fix it.

Basically I love the shot. I would prefer a different treatment of the sky.

Cool - I like the abstract nature of this shot of this water. Still has a hint of motion in it...

Thanks Danielle. I was quite literally lying in the mushroom patch while trying to set up this shot. It took quite a while to get the proper perspective without crushing any of the hundreds of mushrooms growing at the top of the hill. Passers-by must have thought I was nuts!

So this is what these lucky mushrooms get to see! I like the angle of the shot and the vibrant color of the leaves.
Regards,
Danielle

Thanks Dan.. I have taken on some different ideas on retouching shots, so this is one of the first I tinkered with. As for the tripod, I use a mini-tripod which has come in handy on many occasions. It fits in the camera case, so its always ready. I recently had to buy another because my old one had a tendency to lean left as indicated in the Stained Glass shot elsewhere in my portfolio.

Darren, this is a good photo of a difficult subject for me; rocks. You done a great job with composition and exposure. The foreground is out of focus which directs the eye to the rocks. Well done. Thank you for your comment. Rodney

Thanks Ann! The marina at the Yacht Club is pretty sheltered from the movement and waves of the lake, so when Okanagan Lake is still, the marina is VERY still. This is a 25sec exposure, and there is virtually no movement blur on the sailboat at all. A lucky break, but isn't that usually the case?

Funny Dan, I never thought of that at the time, but shooting the reflection is a great idea. Name the time and place to go shooting and I'll be there!

I like this...I would have shot a reflection of the net and backboard in the puddle as well...v cool idea...woulda been cool to have a kid running thru the shot while shooting a basket in time exposure.
Just a couple ideas...we should go out and shoot some day.
