Well, this is a nice little study of colors, light and simple design with much white space, which is a very important part of any design at all. Your exposure was very good and has a lso a high-key look and feel, Tabi! But there is much pixelation on the contours of the pencils, and also some dithering like look on the contours of the shadows of the pencils. I assume that this came from the format change or perhaps also from the automatic downscaling during the upload. A pity since the idea and very likely the image itself must have been much better.

A very good feeling for the timing and also a well balanced exposure that kept most of the details both of the highlights and of the shadows in a good focus. The composition could perhaps be better if it were less centered.

What deep eyes he has! I like the tight cut but I find the portrait a bit soft, especially on his eyes. A pitty not to enhance them with a sharper focus.
Well, he is your son...you'll have plenty of chances. :)
