The trees in the foreground are a color charm, Simone, but perhaos you shouldn't cut them there at the lower edge of the image. Some lens with a shorter focal distance could be of use in otder to not cut the mountain and the sky too. Unfortunately the very intensive color of the front trees turns less and less intensive as we follow to the background. It would be nice to have them all in such intensively warm colors like the front ones.

Focus and details are very good too, and especially the fact that the haze makes the distance feelable, as the details get less and less prominent on the background.

All the best,

Nick

I like this image very much Simone, after reading a colleagues critique, I feel the colours are just right.

A quite unusual way to capture such an image, Simone, but indeed very appealing in the sense of "somebody in snow". Quite contrary to similar shots it rather enhances the solitude than some kind of big fan of a tourist group.

That dark thing on the top should be cloned off, however. It interrupts the white feild in which your main character is embedded.

Cheers,

Nick

I find such images much like abstracts vreated from nature and so I can't really comment the composition itself, but rather the general look. And it does look very very nice with all those unexpectable changes of colors from white of the snow to the darker hues of wood. The addition of the still yellow/orange leaves gives some more tension and interest, as they seem to somehow enhance the sence of depth.

Well seen, Simone, but perhaps a bit too dark for enhancing the contrast of white to the other colors.

Cheers,

Nick

Molto affascinante

What a brilliant image Simone, its one of the few times when grain REALLY hightens the tension in an image, also the image is really charged with mood and menace, well done

Excellent! I name such beautiful captures real photography that combines the documentation element, the very trick of the moment, and that kind of rather silent thought about an everyday scene!

For the most part of it it has that kind of lighting that invites for further exploration, except perhaps for the very highlighted bottom left, of which I guess it was clearly impossible to reduce its light intensity somehow without reducing at the same time the lighting (and thus all the details) of the rest of the scene.

A class of its own.

Although there is some kind of "haze" over the image, the details seem to evolve quite well and this enhances your chosen perspective, Simone! Perhaps you needed some exposure correction downwards, as the corrected image shows. The original had almost only middle and light colors.

Cheers,

Nick

A very well detailed and exposed impression of the rock under snow - the rock seems to radiate its colors very naturally. The composition seems to be somehow wishing for more. Perhaps leaving out the sky could help.

Cheers,

Nick

A very well thought out one, Simone, the abstract feeling of which still allows recognition of some snow and ice formation. The diagonal composition gets strong enough through that just a tiny bit of softer focus. And I think that the lighting also fits the overall impression very nicely.

Cheers,

Nick

It is a night moment that you captured here, Simone, and the fast shutter did manage to catch it very sharply. The general look is a bit too dark for the typical "snow and sun" atmosphere that such images tend to convey most of the time, and so the spectacularity is not as high.

Cheers,

Nick
