this rarely happens, but this one made me laugh when i opened it. something about the serious little girl opposite the blurry big smile in the background. the combination is unique and unexpected. it might be the unexpected element that made me smile or, it might be the thought of of my own kids trying to put on their "serious" face upon request (as I image the little girl is doing here). whatever, i really like your image.

i think this "series" (last 4 from you) is terrific. colors and composition are dynamite. according to my eyes, the colors in your images are consistently rich and vibrant. if you have time to share, i would be interested in reading a any other "technicals" that are not listed above - e.g., filters, post-processing, WB settings, etc that produce such colors. Also, was this one exposure? Looking forward to more of your posts!

cool perspective with colors that "pack a punch". i like your timing - looks like twilight with a hint of lavender in the sky. i would like to see more. looks like a beautiful city.
thanks for response RE macro...i bought the Tamron 90 today!

i really like your macro work! This one in particular. This is my good fortune...I plan to order a macro lens this week (getting ready for spring/summer) and have been debating 60mm or 90/105mm. I am leaning towards the 60mm for better flexibility to handhold, but have read that some feel working distance too short. Does the 20D have a 1.6x cropping factor and do you find the working distance to be a problem? Would appreciate your experience.

Wow! Great light and tones. I especially like placement of the sun, the long shadows, and the "glitter" in the snow.

Amazing only six comments! This is sooooo "Dickens"...the USA version with the pourage replaced by mac+cheese.
I think this is a wonderful composition with the black table, light, expression.

like your last post, "N", i found myself studying this one for some time. i think both are tremendously captivating...wonderful visual treats. i am particularly drawn to the wondeful de-sat blues and yellows, low-light background, and, my favorite, your light in the sunglasses. looking forward to your next post...
