one of my favorite places on earth...we go every year! this is a strong presentation that does this scene justice...i really like how you captured the various shades of water color, its clarity, and the way you framed the shoreline.

sweet shot with vibrant color against the blue sky. i take a lot of shots of my kids from behind for what i think are similar reasons.

Coool! Super presentation. the shot on the right is fabulous...i love the regal strut you caught---leg up, looking at the camera.

only one problem...i now have a face associated with the phrase "tastes like Chicken"...it will forever be spelled with a capital "C"

Nice shot and title! I like the way you composed this with the diagonal flow of fall color across the frame and the sun peaking through in the upper right.

I am adding the following as a fellow D70 user: To my eyes, the two trees on the left have the "blueish" hue that often appears on D70 images. I realize this may have been done intentionally or is a desired effect (temperature gradient). To me, however, it seems to "cool" the image a bit and detract from the wonderful warmth on the right side. I suspect you are aware of this, but I have recently found that negative white balance compensations can, as the manual says, reduce this effect and add warmth. Maybe appropriate here, maybe not.

I enjoy your work and am looking forward to your future posts!

Janet - Thank you for your kind words RE a recent post of mine. The "peer-reviewed" "batting practice" and "taste testing" that UF offers (feedback pro and con) is so cool. Thankfully your comment reminded me to comment on this image that, because of its uniqueness, I intended to when you posted it. Unfortunately, I got distracted and then forgot.

I really like the originality of this sharp, striking, and well composed shot. Everyone has seen impressive shots of fireworks alone in the sky, over water, or above famous landmarks. But I don't ever recall seeing one like this with a "front yard obstruction" intentionally composed into the shot. I think this is a clever shot and a good lesson to me.
