Joćo,

A stunning composition, well done!

This image, like so many of yours are very worthy of gallery display. I know you class yourself as an amature, but you really should be on the selling side of the business, perhaps you are?

Cheers,
Johnny

Ms. Gayle,

How does this cropped version work for you?

Also, sneaking around in the closed off areas had its rewards, this shot, and a dirty look from a librarian. She fit in perfectly with my perceptions of what a city librarian should look like. Her look was of "vengeance is mine", but I escaped unmolested.

Cheers,
Johnny

Hello Ali, Cleveland and Ms. Gayle,

Thank you for your input. I have cropped the photo to what I think works, and following your suggestions.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Fabio,

Thank you so much.

I see from your portfolio that you are in Prague often, lucky you; my wife was born in Praque, but left in '82.

Johnny

Joel,

I love this series, and this shot most of all.

The lighting here has a feel of being filtered by amniotic fluid.

For me, this shot has an erotic visual clarity and an alluring sense of composition.

Well done!

Cheers,
Johnny

WOW! Cool, thank you, all!

I posted this shot and had one reply from my friend Joel and never looked back. I left the next morning for 5 days of shooting in San Francisco, but did not check in to see where this shot went.

I will try to post photographs from SF over the next week; I only walked away with about 70 good ones... I hope....

Cheers, and thanks again.

Hello Joel,

Sweet Jesus, Mary and Joseph, you really do know how to sweet talk a girl! Thank you for your critique full of warm fuzzies.

I created this image and many others over the past summer, but have been remiss in posting many of them.

I have been playing a lot, AND restricting all of my processing to Camera Raw. This tint and lighting style is something I have been trying to achieve (my own trail of tears), and have now just touched on it; a work in progress.

Actually, I have three styles I am working on; this Medium Format & Cross Process feeling, a Edward Hopper feeling, I went for it here, http://www.usefilm.com/Image.asp?ID=1196375 , and Vermeer's "lone window" lighting.

I hope to post these new works soon and have the time to immerse myself into my friends on usefilm new images.

Cheers and thanks again,
Johnny

BTW, do you ever step into the Buckeye Roadhouse? I miss sitting at the bar while waiting for CHP to scrape a wreck off the 101; I enjoyed many glasses of wine and dinners there.

Chris,

I am honored that one of my images would be remembered so many months later, thank you.

And thank you for sending a link to my shot to "Jets Overhead", I will have to check them out; I love the organic nature of the internet.

Cheers,
John

Jacob,

I like this composition and I think it does belong in this catagory.

For a reason that escapes me, this image leads me to think of Billy Bob Thornton; no idea why, just does.

Cheers,
John

Thank you, to all that have left comments on this photograph, I am humbled as I look at all of your portfolios.

I feel honored to win an award for a shot that just happened, but to win two is amazing.

Best wishes,
John

Joel,

Another great photograph, congratulations. It took me a moment to see deeper into the shot, but once I did I discovered more and more; just the way I like it, the surprises.

Joel,

Ever since I came across your book on usefilm, I have been mesmerized by your amazing eye for architectural photographs. Your ability to see what so many of us walk by daily, to pull the best out of it, has forced me to take the time and really see what is around.

Thank you!

John

Joel,

This is a wonderful portrait, I think the slight sepia added along with the grain add a timeless quality to this image.

Tell me, what was on your fathers mind?

Keep the portraits coming!

John

Radek,

I love the composition, color and perspective of this shot, but I think it would be so much stronger if the boy was engaged with the camera. But, then again I like how the dreamy, wondering look plays well with the curve of the hallway.

All that being said, GREAT SHOT!!

Megan,

Thank you!

I have been watching your work for a while, but I missed some of your recent posts.

I really like your "Balance" photograph, it speaks to me and takes me back to when I was boy. My hide out was behind a garage this shot reminds me of.
