This is a color photo. The pebbly beach is the result of volcanic eruptions, so it is blackish. I will be posting more from Antarctica. Just you wait.

Neat picture. Is it in black and white, or color? -- I can't tell. (I'll bet you have a lot more good stuff from Antarctica.)

Great shot, well chosen composition. I like it that you chose the boys to be in the middle, especially because the sticks he's holding make a nice contrast to the mountain in the background. And the surroundings they're in gives you the feeling that the two are on a lonely voyage to manhood. Great capture, which tells a true story!

I like the picture, I only wish that the figure in the lower left corner would have moved. I bet the bread was good.

Wow! Great to capture such intense blues and oranges in the same frame. Perfectly framed and balanced. An uncommonly good shot of a very common subject. (Aren't sunsets addictive?)

Very nice photo and a complex vision -- I see a new side of you with every UF photo. Here's an idea: use Photoshop to get rid of the lines in the background, maybe even the whole sky.

Great idea, Lee Ann, it works! I found myself searching for an alternate take on the Taj Mahal, also, and I wish I had come up with this.

Carpets? Snails? Carpets? Snails? Carpets? Snails? Tough choice. The photo was probably the best choice. Nice blast of red and orange against a lovely blue sky.

Ann, beautiful colors of carpets under sunlight. my hometown, Gordes/Turkey, being famous for its carpets which are made with a special knit known as "Gordes knit" or "double knit". i really like this photo, very well done!

We really have done a heap of traveling together, and it's been great fun! I had a hard time deciding whether to post this photo or one that is not blurry because I accidentally used flash (big oops in that venue). I decided that the blurriness better portrayed the feeling of flamenco than sterile crispness. I'm sad that the colors washed out a bit when I uploaded the photo.

Does anyone know why colors are sometimes less vibrant when photos are uploaded? Is there a way to get around that?

WOW Lee Ann, we really do too much together. Whenever I look at your photos, I am reminded of how much of the world we have seen together! Thanks for being such a great travel buddy. Great photo of the flamenco dancers -- I have so much trouble getting one that wasn't too blurry but you are correct that the blurriness adds to the feeling of motion. Melody

Thanks for the support. I have to admit, I like the "uphill" format more than the Photoshop enhanced level horizon. Wish I could say I did more than click the shutter. The colors and infinite sky were there.

I have to admit, I'm just not yet saavy enough about Photoshop to do that yet. If I were, I would have done so. At the same time, I do like the shadows, and resulting slight hint of expression.

Hey, this is hot. The passion is THERE in the colors and the motion. Have you thought of doing a little Photoshop dodging on the face to make the expression more visible?

A captivating scene! No way the horizon is skewed -- it's just uphill. You get such intense colors and the most infinite skies. How do you do that?

This man has such a vacant stare. I wonder if he is tired of sitting in his tiny box/shop of olives. I think he may actually be contemplating (whew - tough word to spell) being somewhere else -- perhaps on a beach or in the mountains. Great photo!
