Yea, I really liked it and I was just messign around with the slow shutter speed. I looked at it and Im like "Oh well thats no bad."
Im in Central Bucks, south of Doylestown. It's about a half hour from NE Philly.

Yea, I made everything soft except for the big daisy. The blue was really overwhelming so I didn't want it in focus. Thanks for the comment!

4 x 5, huh? You obviously don't believe in making it easy for yourself! Somehow I find the very fast shutter speed a bit hard to believe. Electronic flash might be that fast, but depth of field is so shallow at normal shutter speeds I would have guessed a time exposure. It's a pity the highlights are blown. On film, given a bit of dodge and burn, they should be saveable... Nice textures. (Thanks for your comment!)

Thanks, the lightbulb is actually my favorite thing in the picture, and the window. The place is gorgeous and would take about two weeks to fully see all 35 rooms in the house.

shannon lovely lighting. This works so well in bw. I love the idea of using bw to present object that are ingrained in our senses as being full of colour.

A beautiful composition. The b&w works very well for these blooms. I do find the net curtain background a trifle busy. The texture and details of the roses are really elegant, but the equally interesting features of the curtain are in competition. I hope you do more of these--especially since you're in an ideal workplace.

Hmmm, your dad has the same look on his face that my dad does when I try to take pictures of him-- "just take the damned thing already!"
Nice capture,Shannon-- well framed and very good exposure with some tough backlighting-- and I love the cigar glow.
