CJ, I really enjoy your work. In this shot I like the softness of the flowers, but I find the colors in general to stagnate a bit (maybe just me).

CJ, actually it's a black swallowtail. There is a Halloween butterfly though, but it's native to Central America.

Tripod probably would have been much better for this shot, but indoor crowded garden didn't permit... so it was handheld with indoor, hi-overhead lighting. No PS color changes.

CJ are you using your tripod? Seems that there is a lot of overall unsharpness here. The color works but the shot would be helped if you had used a reflector or some fill flash to throw some lighting into the flowers.

Hi CJ... think this is the first time I have commented on one of your pics...just finished going through your portfolio and I think I like this image the best of them all.
The lighting is nice and soft and compliments the softness of the flowers. I like the out of focus here because everything is out of focus and it makes it look like a pastel painting. Others may hate the out of focus look...but I like *smile*....Maggie

I love those trees in the automn. A very fine picture with beautifull colours. Did you know it is possible to covert this picture to an infrared picture using Photoshop? Sometimes you get very nice effects. Bert (curzon@dds.nl)

Thanks for all the comments. I tried the pic w/out the green leaves in the lower RH corner after your suggestions, and think I prefer the original. Once those leaves disappear, the lower flower appears to float in the photo since the stem is lost in the background. Somehow those leaves in the corner stop the floating. Again, thanks for all the comments. I appreciate all of your input!

The composition is what makes this such a lovely floral image IMO CJ. I love it. (I didn't even notice the green leaves until I read the comments. I don't know that I would crop them out but maybe just blur them a bit to match the rest of the background as the greens of the leaves help IMO to add the beauty of the pink flowers.

Normally I wouldn't comment on cute zoo-pics but this one is too good to pass up. Oh so serene and nurturing, what a beautiful moment all species can recognize, parents protecting the young one. The shape made by the necks really makes the shot. True, the fence is unavoidable and worth allowing in the shot to get that moment on film. Image looks soft, is it that way on the neg/print or did the journey from neg to screen cause that? Great image.

CJ, I thought I recognized your 'mark' on this photo. As usual, well done. If anything, I find the upper left corner to be a bit busy... Hey, who's complaining, I wish I could shoot shot-after-shot of this quality. Another great shot.

Really nice and delicate. I love the position of the flowers. If you have PS or something similar, it might be nice to blur those couple of green leaves in the lower right...just so they don't scream for attention. I love this shot.

Gorgeous colours in this picture, CJ. I am a sucker for fall treesand I like the way the path leads you into the picture. My only suggestion would be to crop a bit from the top where it seems a bit overexposed. By doing this it would create a solid wall of colour.
