Thank you Christine (et al) for your kind comments. This was actually an easy photo because of the beauty of this young puppy.

The toughest part was getting her to sit still. She never did and what you do not see is the fact hat she is being held. I am guessing that the recharging of the flash is what she was hearing that caused her to cock her head to one side

I like the fact that the Airplane is not well defined. It represents the heat and the strength of the sun as foreign objects dare to approach it's boundaries.

I like the fact that the Camel just entered into the picture!

Great composition and the use of B&W make more of an impact.

Very interesting!

If it means anything perhaps these are related for no other reason than I found them across from this entrance:

Great capture.

The tree is as important to the composition as the horse is. I would prefer to see more detail and a bit more brightness to highlight the snow.

My favorite part of the photo was the horse chose not to look at you.

I would crop the fence line out of the photo as it plays little part in the composition.

Great Catch! It looks like ribbon in the sky dividing the light.

Thanks for your comment as it is much appreciated.

About the Moon.

It is the real life size for that moment in time. I have yet to add or take away anything from any of the shots I have posted on this site. I always hope that in the few short nanoseconds I have between the button press and the shutter closing I am lucky enough to capture the moment.

It is a highly modified Honda Civic. Not "Ricer Modified", true performance modifications.

Nature's Sky carpet.

Wow!

From the depth of the clouds you only had seconds before the sun would have taken this photograph with it over the horizon.

Thanks to all!

It was actually taken from an area North of "A" Mountain. If you look at the far right of the picture you will see "A" Mountain and Signal Hill

Nature is the greatest Architect. I see wonderful symmetry seen in some of the greatest churches and carvings found around the world.

The end is beautiful...

What a macro!

Great composition.

Thanks for your comments...

Another intersting point is that nothing except the lights from the driveway and the light from the house across the street were visible to the naked eye.

There was a slight amount of light coming from the distance but very few stars were visible.

Most of the stars seen were brought out by the extended shutter time.

Much more than 30 seconds you would have started to see the rotation of the earth.

I am fortuate to live here. I like everyone else before me and after wanted to close the gates so the beauty is not over taken.

But there is plenty to share...

My wife could not appreciate the difference between the 2 cameras (I own the Canon 20D now) until I could show the detail that is available from a good shot and crop.

She is now the owner of the Olympus 2.1

Fear not!

I was gunna name it "Time to Kill" but I thought it would be misunderstood. I guess one could view "Just Killing Time" from a darker perspective as well...

As it stands now I have to worry about the unintended political statement.

The only things I intend to shoot is dirt, wood and the occasional paper target.

A friend said that I should photograph a .223 rifle leaning against a "NO LEFT TURN" sign.

That would be politcal
