The baby is my brother in law so I?m not sure why but I think the reason for holding baby in this position is that baby don't inhale water while taking the bath.

ahhh... a bath! I have never seen a baby bathed face down. I have heard of infant swimming classes so I was thinking maybe this was one of them or possibly a baptism. Thanks for explaining  cute baby!

If you want to wash baby?s hair and face it natural to use weather for that, even if it goes over baby?s face.
