Lovely markings well captured with excellent balance of the black and white detail. To achieve such good depth of field at f/32 you must have a good flash setup. All the rain spiders I have seen in PE are dull pinkish brown by comparison.

You have captured the essence of the Karoo beautifully in this picture, it is refreshingly different from the usual landscape of this area that most of us tend to ignore as we rush through this arid landscape. Nicely seen and well presented.

Joggie, I hope your adventure in Mozambique includes some photography!
I forgot to ask about the f/32 aperture for this image. Is this the actual camera setting or is it an interpolation based on the non-CPU lens base data for the macro-converter? What I input is F/2.8 plus the factor for the converter = f/7.1 as a base.

Hi Eb - thanks for the comment. Yes I used the ringflash to fill in during bright sunshine conditions.
Great to see you are back, will visit in time. You came back and I am on my way again to a big new project in Mozambique and will be absent for a while! Regards and keep shooting!

Very creative, Joggie! Did you know that you had an owl before you combined the photos? This gives me some ideas. An upcoming photoproject in our club is "faces in nature." Perhaps I can creatively meet the criteria doing a montage.

Beautiful creature and tack sharp. You do get great results at f/32 despite diffraction! Joggie, did you use your ring light - it seems that because of lack of shadows?

Beautiful wildlife, Joggie! I enjoy the poignant pose reinforced by warm evening light! The gradation in the background blue is the opposite of what one expects and thus adds to the novelty! Congratultions on the award!
