Hi scott. I like this shot Waikki beach. I have been kicking around getting a Tokina 12-24 because of the build properties are as some say as good as Nikon 12-24 and cost is much less. This photo does show some barrel distortion but usually PS or NC4 will correct it. anyhow I am still making comparisons.

Tom

Hello Ryan. I like your style of photoart. I wish "Usefilm" would give us more value as to the artistic approach usisng the digital darkroom. There is alot more work than just using some silly filters. Good job.

Hello Rick. Thank you for your comment. I always like to see what one does himself. This IR I really like.Great tones and DOF. I too use a HoyaR72 on a 28mm and get better results than the 50mm. Reason I have no idea (LOL) and it's the 2.8 version to boot. Your IR work is very good. I am still learning IR to get different color shift takes some pratice.

Tom

Hello Orazio. I wish to thank you for your comment. Browsing through your portfolio this image stood out.The colors and simplicity of the scene, give it a surreal impression. Your DMC-FZ20 comes as close to a SLR as any of the P&S cameras. your built in OS system sure is a plus for cam shake, and your zome I believe is a equivalent to a 36-432mm. Enough for the advertisement.Again thank you for your comment.

Tom

Hi Sally. Your shot looks filtered, but I like the results. I noticed you have my camera of choice, and the only other digital Nikon that is superior IMHO is the D2X. Try using NC4,or Raw shooter Essentials before using PS. And another thing you can take your raw into adobe and use the "auto Color Balance" which adjust your WB automatically. Hope this helps.

Tom

Hi Wez. I took the liberty to look at some of your work and this photo stood out. Very good framing of the buildings, and the light or WB "White Balance" (smile) is very good. A suggestion would be to crop your photo to balance the building on the right with the one on the left. Just clip the left side a bit. This only my opinion. Good job.

Tom

Hello Scott. I have been looking at the Tokina as well as the Nikon 12-24. I have a bunch of Nikon lenses, but I am not a purest at heart. If the performance is there then the price dosen't matter.I like this photo for the colors and composition. Looks like you might have had a CPL on the lens also. Good Job.

Hello Orazio. I wish "Usefilm" would give more categories to digital creativity. But they seem to be stuck in the in the past. I use a old Cannon film cam 1960's version "CannonFlex" only for nastalgia. I have switched to "Nikon" for lens compatibility and for the ease of a digital darkroom. Enough said. Love your composition and creativity in this photo. Good job.

Hello Tabitha. I think your photo is just fine as is,contrary to "Sameh Odeh" opinion. His rendition added more noise to the forground (LOL) than your original.. If you haven't got the program "Neat Image" Get the freebie it is better IMHO than the new "Smart Sharpen" feature in my APSCS2. Anyway Good composition and light. Good job.

Tom
