Looks like a very beautiful place to be... what a great looking waterfall. One thing with Velvia slide film though, is that the latitude isn't very forgiving, so like in this image, you've got great exposure on the greenery, but the water is blown out. I'm not sure if you tried experimenting with exposure or not, but I like to spot meter off different parts of a scene when there are major differences between dark and light. In this image I would have metered off the water to get detail within, and tried it again metering off the greenery. That way I would know that one of them would end up how I hoped. I have an FG as well... great cameras and very easy to learn on. If you have any questions, let me know!

This is a very beautiful picture! It reminds me of one that Ansel Adams did. Waterfalls are so beautiful nice job capturing that.

I used B/W cause I was playing around with it, Still am. I was looking for a side profile. The car is Jet black, and I wanted to see how it would come out in B/W with the reflections in the paint.

:O WOW. One of my all time favourite cars captured perfectly. Wonderful John I love it in Black and White; emphasises the fact that it's an old time classic car, enhances the glossiness of the car and creates a great mood.

Well I got 2 questions....why B&W and why didn't you move a little more to the left for the classic car shot showing more of the front?

Thanks Warren,
Yes I think there is something on the slide, maybe dust or a fingerprint, I'll have to look. When I scanned it it was 4:30 in the morning, and was getting reasdy for work. Also in the extream top right corner there is a little bit of the slide mount still visable, I should have cropper just a little more to block it out.
Thanks for the comment! John

First, the photo: the composition is great, the shoreline running up to the left draws the eye into the frame, I feel, and the detail of the rock in the foreground helps add a little something.
Next the scan; I've found that if you intend to post on-line, scanning at anything over 200dpi is probably a bit much. If you're putting examples of your work on-line for all to see, then by all means go higher. For printing, I start at 400dpi.
To me, there seems to be a little bit of something in the image itself, just above the palm trees, that shows up in the sky area. Is this from the scanner?
I don't mean to offend, I don't claim to be an expert.
