The click of the camera made it fly away, so I can't answer your question. I'm going back to where I took this with my mum for Mother's Day on Sunday, I will take some nuts & see if I can answer your question afterwards!! Regards Steve.

Yes Andre, they are normally seen running DOWN trees, they look very sleek & aerodynamic. You can't see that here! Treecreepers (I think I posted one a while ago) creep UP!

Hello Fabio,
Am confused by your comment. This was shot with Canon 100-400L, not a Sigma lens.
Regardless, I would say if you have a Canon & can afford it, get one!! Regards Steve.

The colors and sharpness here are amazing. I'd crop the right side by about 1/2 inch. To my taste this image doesn't need any other adjustments.

Thanks Michael, though for me, your Red-bellied woodpecker (curious name? It has a white belly?) is much better. Robins are very common hedgerow birds here. Woodpeckers are very hard to photograph over here....

Thanks Gregory. Your beach & night / blue-light shots continue to thrill me (and irritate me 'cos I've not seen the sea for nearly a year!). I concentate on bird shots at the moment because they don't take a huge amount of travel to come by.... that said I've been up to my knees in snow in the Peak District today, so hopefully something will come of that (20 past midnight now so I guess that should be yesterday). Haven't had chance to look at the shots yet - taken with new 17-40L paid for by Rolls-Royce's (where I work) annual performance bonus- let's hope eh?

Den, I can see how it might look like that! This little fella was chunterring at us rather than singing full-out, once we stepped back he flew behind us and pulled a juicy worm straight out of the ground. In hindsight I think he was muttering under his breath "if you aint going to feed me then get out the bl**dy way". Understandable really!
