Thanks for your comment Jim, yes I can see the similarity to "Self Portrait?", I guess I was just lucky; I haven't logged onto Usefilm for several years so at first I thought the email was just spam!

Your gallery is top notch - "Alone in a crowd" is excellent IMHO.

Regards
Steve

Thank you for the comment Steve. The background here is unmodified, what treatment would you suggest?

Steve.

Thanks for the comment & critique Peter, I have to agree with you about the 1/3 to 2/3 ratio. This was only really an experiment to gauge peoples' thoughts. A circular polariser was used, and 3 ND grad filters were added in postwork.

Regards,
Steve.

Thanks Peter! This was actually shot through the bars of his cage, but using a wide aperture you can only just tell.

Steve.

Hi Sally, no offence intended, I hope you appreciate I genuinely was not mocking you, hope you didn't take it as such.

Regards,
Steve.

Great title Antonio, very nice picture. I agree with the comment below, this could do with a little adjustment in levels, and also the horizon isn't straight, but a good effort all the same.

Regards,
Steve.

Hello Gregory,
I don't usually 'see' the frame when I look at subs, but I noticed this as it works so well. Very nice balance & composition, superb strong colours. Excellent!

Steve.

Thanks Margaret. A couple of different layers involved, one for sharpening, one for levels then a bit of softening for the background.

Steve.

Thanks Den,

Not many more worth posting from the Bird Centre unfortunately, it really was dreadfully dull weather! Good excuse to go back next year though.

I agree - fab places & worth supporting. Though the local rodents may disagree!

Steve

Unbelievable. You're just too good, my friend. How do you find the 400 prime over the 100-400 in terms of performance? I assume you got it at some horribly low price over there in the US? About £4000 here in the UK... Ouch!
