Lovely tones in the sky and a fascinating set of shapes, almost in silhouette but with just a hint of colour. The image gives a feeling of setting off, of heading out to sea...

Great how the lines in the paving drag the eyes up to the tower, passing the seat on the way - it really helps the viewer feel part of the scene.

Many thanks for your comment, Ray. The D300 does indeed seem to be able to catch a wonderful depth and range of tones. I also find that I can push the ISO up quite a way before noise becomes an issue - handy in this shot as my tripod had been confiscated by security at the entrance.

Many thanks for your opinion, Jan. I had visualised many of the NY shots even before leaving home, and I must say that my preconception of the street scenes was B&W.
But I can see that I have the terminology wrong: for me that's a van not a truck! And what do you call those orange and white chimneys?

There is something that makes me smile here, but I'll be gentle! I think it's the wonderful hair that makes her head look huge compared with her body! I like the way you have her set against the wares of the shop - it looks like a typical traditional chemist's (as we would call it over here).
Quite by coincidence, but after the discussion in the forum I just wondered if this image was not quite as sharp as it might be...
Good to see you here again, Jan! AJ

Had a bit of a double-take when I read the "about" on your personal profile, Abdi - it is remarkably similar to mine! No worries - as they say, imitation is the highest form of flattery!
Since you ask for a serious critique, here goes.
There is indeed a nice feeling of freedom here: the attitude of the little boy, the wide open space. But that is one heck of a slope you've got on the horizon. I would also crop a little on the right, where you appear to have another figure intruding into the image. (Actually, the crop necessary after adjusting the horizon would probably solve this second issue also.)

An intent look, and I like the way the child's clothes make him stand out against the background. Of course you need the pigeons in the picture that are the focus of attention of the child and the photographer, but I think it would be good to have the feet of the closer pigeons as well!
Greetings from Warsaw, AJ

A wonderful vision, though to be honest I would rather see a little more sky or else none at all. As others have said, a superb B&W conversion.
I'm interested in your comment: "when i make a picture is something intuitive, explanations arise later on if there is any". Do I understand from this that the visions arise after you see the photos you have taken? The reason I ask is because I now often visualise my photos before I take them, even when this concerns seemingly straightforward photographic representations such as my street scenes from NYC. This goes as far as making drawings beforehand or taking samples out into the field with me.
