Thanks Nigel - this place is worth a visit for the architecture alone!

The empty space at the top provides a counter-balance to the stairs, Steven. Removing or reducing this space would change that balance.

A great scene and treatment. But that slope on the horizon is perhaps a little distracting...

Perhaps not a particularly beautiful building, but it produces a fascinating play of lines in B&W! Nicely observed.

A superb vision of arrival in a new city. This could apply to any new place. Then, when you get outside the airport, you notice all the things that are different from home (at least for the first few days...)

Hey, it's the Bird Man! Good to see you here, Marcus - I hope it's not just a fleeting visit. This excellent shot reminds us what we've been missing these last months...

With best wishes for the New Year,

Many thanks, Nicki - I think credit for the framing should go to the architect!

Thanks Steve. I did wonder about the lower figure and I have other shots, but I decided that this version implied that there was more life behind the wall...

Good point, Harry. But if I had gone up higher you would see lights and the ceiling which I think would detract from the overall simplicity.

Many thanks for your visit,

Looks like there's a spot of frost on his fur - it really helps emphasise the detail and sets him off nicely against the orange background.

Thanks Ray. As I said to John, during the first few days I saw photos everywhere. But after a while things that had initially been unfamiliar started to become familiar, and then I had to look a little harder.

It certainly has, John. It was interesting seeing such a different place for the first time - in the first few days, I was finding countless photos on every street corner, until the unfamiliar started to look familiar and then I had to look a little harder...
