Thanks Gary - I think the blue one is pretty "interesting" as well!

PS. When you say the website is dead, do you mean you were totally unable to access it, or that there was no live link from the "about" under this image? The site itself is working fine, although I might have been working on it when you tried to access it...

I'm in disguise, Ray (but not in a pink "feminine product"!)

Lovely colours and silhouettes - I like the way the sun is lighting up the sky with an orange glow.

This really brings home the size and power of the wave - a very dramatic shot.

Thanks Nicki! I don't have this problem in Warsaw as I always take the tram...

There's a lot of c#$p around the base of this building - your "bookmark" format is a good solution to isolate it.

For me, this is classic NYC: the yellow cabs against the greys of the city.

Looks like we've been hanging out in the same places recently! The curves of the steps give this a nice perspective.

Heh heh! I know where you were! Nice shot - I like the way the illuminated Chrysler Building stands out against the others.

There's just a glimpse of the ocean in the background, but the focus remains on the wave breaking over the wall and onto the empty bench. Thus, we are given the whole story... An excellent shot.

From the big storm this weekend? Wonderful capture of the water, as though falling from the sky. I hope you were taking this from a sheltered spot!

A stark contrast - high technology in a simple rural environment. You sense from this image that the children feel the significance of something new without understanding what it is...

Thanks Marian. And all credit to the D300 - I didn't really have the right lens when I spotted this, but the crop retains the clarity and tones at web-image size.

Many thanks, Ray. Does the Nanny State still allow you to change light bulbs yourself or do you now have to hire a certified electrician?!

Thanks Gary. I thought this was going to be a simple shot. I'd had it in mind a long time in advance. But when I came to shoot it I found all sorts of problems, including of course the contrast of the sky and the buildings. I took many of these over several days and eventually got one or two I was happy with.

Here I was standing on a pedestrian island in the middle of the road, so relatively safe... The only run-in I had with security was at the Empire State Building, where my tripod was confiscated.

Thanks Ray. I think the idea originally came from an image I saw a long time ago here on UF, and I had this one in mind even before stepping onto the plane...
