Thanks Dave, Yes its a place where you wouldn't normally have/put any foreground distractions, its such a glorious view on its own. But on this night, it seemed even more about the people there enjoying the light shows nad the ambiance. Sure the SOH is still the Star but with some supporting characters and us photograhers. Cheers

Here's another shot of the little fella "escaping" along the wall. I found him in the corner curled up behind the fridge. I made a guantlet & slowly conviced him to wander out the back door. I took a quite a few shots, all at 300mm.

John, thanks for that comment, a real compliment coming from someone as talented as yourself. Yes the saffron covered monks really stand out incredibly well against the stone walls. I tried cropping as you suggested but just wasn't happy with it. I shall post another image today that was shot to the top of the arch. If anyone ever has the opportunity to visit these wonderful temples, I thorougly reccomend it, you MUST spend at least 3 - 7 days there, just to get over the initial excitement and awe and then really settle into some serious photography.

Well it wasnt really a planned shot. I had taken a few of my daughter, then the other 2 just came along, so just took a few shots. How was Burma - Mayanmar? Let me quote the opening line of the Lonely Planet guide book. "We think it's too early for either tourists or investment or aid... " The LP book is an excellent guide to the whole country. We had such an interesting time there, not your usual relaxed laid back holiday, a bit hard and difficult at times. But the people are wonderful and meeting so many of my wifes far away relatives was a really great thing.

This is an excellent & vey different shot of Sydneys shoreline. The framing palm trees & the orange glow from the smokey clouds give it a very "Pacific Island" glow. Well done.

Bruce, you get out to some great & interesting places, compared to many of us, & have the oppurtunity for some wonderfull images. To spark enthusiasm along I can highly recommend joining any local camera club. You get to meet with like minded interested people like yourself. You have little projects & competitions to spur interest along. You also pick up technical & compositional tips, get to see others differing perspectives & generally have a good time. Cheers for now & have a merry Christmas Regards Sven

James we set the camera for a 15sec exposure, we had earlier measured for the background. Then get the subject to move to various positions while firing of a flash. Very simple & very effective. Have a go, good luck
