Oh yes a beautiful scene and one where I would very much like to be in right now. I love that gorgeous water colour and to just sip a nice pinacolada (with a little umbrella in it of course) in that palm frond roofed cabana is my idea of a holiday. Oh look...there goes my boat.

A beautiful scene Galal. I'm jealous.

I did this with my tree Manu. It's in my portfolio called "Morning Glow". I saw the sun hit it against the black sky so I grabbed my camera, grabbed the shot, uploaded it to my computer and posted it here all within minutes. All I did was resize the file as digital files are almost a meg on my camera.

This one worked well. Lovely lines colours and textures against the deep blue sky. Quite appealing to view. Well done.

How fascinating Shirley. Gorgeous patterns in this ancient fossil. wonderful shapes, curves, lines, colours and textures. If only it oculd talk. The stories it could tell. A beautiful image. Well captured.

A lovely abstract Marian with great lines, shapes, textures and colours. Very nice composition to have the yellow balancing the image on both sides. Well thought out.

Oh wow...here's a sight I haven't seen before 2 movements in nature happening at one time. (I hope that didn't sound as bad as I think it did - LOL) The water falling is one thing but to have snow falling at the same time is quite the sight. So glad you were able to capture that. Did you try a slow shutter with that one? I'm wondering if it would have caused a complete white out or what the effect might have been. How interesting. I'll have to try that if I ever see snow and just HAPPEN to be near a waterfall at the same time (ya right - that happens to me often - NOT - LOL) Great shot Larry.

No problem Larry. That's why I'm here. To state the obvious. LOL

In all seriousness though. I've heard red is a hard colour to capture. Looks like you have it down fine though. I haven't tried so I wouldn't know.

A great composition of a lovely scene with beautiful tones and colours. Nice classic lines in the boat. The soft and subtle reflection in the water from the sun is very pretty too. Good shot Josep.

Yep it's red alright. If this isn't one of the cutest red faces I've ever seen. Love the hairdo and it looks like you've caught him in the middle of dinner. He doesn't look too happy about being watched while he eats. Great capture and nice composition.

Super DOF Chuck. I can almost feel the kick back from this shot (pardon the pun). Did I tell you my husband fought in Desert Storm? He was doing all sorts of secret stuff that even I don't know about. He was an Army Ranger. Retired now thank God or they would have called him back. They've tried a few times to get him back but he wouldn't play anymore and I'm glad. 25 years is long enough in that game to cheat death.

Anyway the composition here is very impressive and dynamic. A great shot (there's that pun again) Well done.

Hi Eric, thanks for dropping by. We live in a motorhome and have been snowed in for the winter in Oregon but now that spring is more or less around the corner we are getting the motorhome ready to get the wheels turning again. We're going to head north towards Washington to look for land to build on or perhaps find our next home somewhere. We have no real set plan and if we don't find anything by next winter we'll head for the desert states like New Mexico or Utah as we want a drier winter than the rainy one we've just had here in Oregon. This travelling lifestyle is fun while the wheels are turning but if we stay in one place for too long in the motorhome it gets a bit dull especially if the rain sets in and we can't get out. We enjoy the lifestyle though and maybe that's why we haven't found a house or a town we want to settle in yet. (maybe we're not really trying hard to find a house - hehe) It's a dark and dirty job this travelling around the country but someone has to do it.

Thanks for your encouraging comments over the years. I'll be around as internet connection allows.

Cheers - Ann

Thank you for dropping by Gabriela. Yes, this place does have a romantic Romeo and Juliet type of feel to it. It hink the bridge is a big part of what makes this waterfall so appealing to me.

Thank you for all all support and encouraging comments and I will do my best to stay in touch when I get on the road.

Simplistic yet very powerful image to view. The tones are excellent and the colours are very enticing with such dramatic greys and just the building and smoke stack in red. The plume of smoke is very dynamic rising up to blend with the clouds. This looks like a winner to me. Fantastic exposure and details and superb clarity. A great piece of work and wonderful image Vandy. It looks so 3 dimensional. Very impressive.

Good job Collin. Your photo is making me hungry cause it's breakfast time here. I'd love one of those grilled cheese sangas right now (sanga = aussie slang for sandwich). Maybe Santa can get your your own camera for Christmas if you're a good boy. Hey way cool Spiderman plate too. Great photo Collin.

Oh Robin....thank you also for your comment on my waterfall image. I will try to post as time and internet connection allows when I am on the road.

Yes they are very similar but it's fun spotting the differences. More of the drumstick shows on the base drum on the right image. The right boy's left drumstick is higher...I could go on and on - hehe.

I'm getting a repuation for being flappy mouthed where that front page is concerned. All it means is that I can talk under wet cement and can type that way too. One of these days I'm going to find one of my silly comments (like this one) on the front page and I'll be so embarrassed. (haha)

You've captured the essence of Japan with this delicate tree of soft blooms. It really does look like a soft whispy veil. So nice to see photos of blossoms. I do enjoy all the wintery snow scenes but this gives me hope of warmer weather and more sunshine around the corner. A lovely image Yoshiyuki.

Happy Canada Day Ina! When was it? Did I miss it?

Very nice Ina. At first I thought you were going for a repetition effect to give it more "sound" (figuratively speaking of course) but looking closer I see they are 2 different images. You almost got me. A bit like those cartoons you see that say spot the differences. The eyes are open on the boy on the left but in the right image they are closed and his left drumstick isn higher on the right. Do I get a prize?

Great tones and interesting lighting almost like spotlights on them. I like this very much Ina. Great work.

Hi Rob,

I spotted this little gem in the random section whilst I was commenting on another of your images. Isn't Oregon fantastic for its waterfalls.

It does have a similar appearance to Upper Multnomah but you say it's not there so I'm wondering if this might be one of the Silverton Falls group. It's about that distance south of Multnomah and there are a bunch of falls in that area. Most you have to hike to but some are at the car park or close by.

A very nice shot with lovely fall colours. Good shutter effect.

I like the composition Robl. The diagonal rocks at the bottom ground it nicely. I hope you don't mind but I took the liberty of retouching the bright mid section of the waterfall. See attached rework. I take a sample from the darker gray section of the waterfall then use a soft edged paintbrush at %10 opacity and lightly go over any burnt out areas of water until it blends in. Nice moss and rock textures and colours give a lovely contrast here. Good shot and lovely slow shutter effect.

Thank you Ray for your hearfelt words. I don't like long goodbyes but I can't go cold turkey either so I thought I'd wean off UF slowly so to speak. I will do my best to stay in touch but if internet connection doesn't allow for much time in UF then at least I will still be able to email once in a while to keep in touch.

Thank you for dropping by Ray and for your good wishes.

It could be worse Kelly. If they ever really find us out we could be known as Flip and Flop. (haha) OK then we can just stay with our aliases - Kelly and Ann. I like to keep a low profile anyway so I also don't mind if you call me Ms Flappy. {*please insert rolling on the floor smiley graphic here*}

PS - I still like the cow better.

Hi Petal...I can translate that for you cause I speak ancient graffiti. (I learnt it when I was a child). LOL It says "No Smoking Whilst Cleaning Your Musket" and "This Way Up and Out".

That lamp gave you good lighting for this series of photos. I like to call them "Petal's Tomb Raider Series"......OR....."Batgirl Revisited" Nice colours and textures. Watch out for low flying bats.

Thanks for your comical comment on my waterfall image. Always a pleasure. You always put a big smile on my face.

Ahhh group hug...OR does the guy in the middle have a beer that the others want to get their hands on? Yes that guy on the left looks like he's getting a bit pushy. Great job on the whites and now we need to get the guy in front some bleach from rubbing that cricket ball on his pants. Now why do they do that when they wear whites.....or why do they wear whites when they know they are going to do that? Such a baffling sport - Cricket. LOL Great shot though Rina.

Thanks for your great comment on my Rivendel waterfall image. I'll check in as internet connection allows and if ever you want to get totally confused again about OZography just email and I'm sure between us we can get well and truly lost.

Always a pleasure Rina
