How's it going Phil, Great shot, I like it a lot, I think chad's right about the big block of white because that's the first thing I see. Perhaps crop it just above the guys head? what have you been up to?

Nice perspective. You think you can do anything about that big white block of a sky? I'm assuming it was overcast so there probably isnt any detail there. Good to see you post a photo again.

You know, when I first looked at this picture I agreed with cessy - I though the fire itself was too small in the overall picture. But the more I looked at your treatment the more I liked it and I think you did the right thing. I especially like how you framed the shot (and I usually don't like frames).
Very nice work.

the picture itself is wonderful
though maybe not depict very well the tragic and the greatness of fire as you mentioned in 'about'
slightly bigger (closer look) maybe

ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT, but ... and there always is one isn't there? ... the border is either too broad or the typesetting for the title is too small ... Yes/No?

Thanks for sharing this marvelous piece of work!

P.S. A '6' anyway ...

thanks for the comment chad, no tripod and a much longer sequence than is visible it was the whole 25 picture burst that the 20D can do on JPEG mode... my buddy herman shot ot with my camera which was tossed down to him off the cornace prob 30 feet in my bag before this. SCARY throwing all that $$$ down a huge POW slope. under exposure is the camera following me downhill and i would agree with you i need to lighten it up.. pray for health my hand didnt get hurt in this fall to say the least as i tucked it away nicely inside but my head and brain didnt think the same thing ha ha ha..

feel better dude we should go shoot sometime!!!

Great sequence, was this shot on a tripod? I personally havent had the chance to shoot sequences to stitch together. Looks like someone was in the right place at the right time to get this shot. Though it does look a little under exposed to me... I cant wait to try my new 20d out on the mountain...just as soon as my knee heals (stupid aspen tree!)
