Hi I'll leave my opinion italian hope you can translate
Ti auguro buona luce :-)

Morgan:

Sorry, I should have said start with that and angle the screen on your laptop to where it looks right, then continue on with your work. The angle and whether it is plugged in really affects the image.

Bleh.

See if you can get it close - helped on my laptop this week, posted it a while ago just so I could get close while on the road.

I'm glad you're diong some HDR stuff. I had planned on telling you to check it out, as your landscape style could render some very interesting images in HDR. Looks like you beat me to it. :)

Very nice demo shot. Can't wait to see the final posts. I took a water shot or two in HDR but have yet to process them as of yet.

I have a Dell flatscreen monitor that I could plug into the laptop - can those be calibrate like a CRT? If so, I may consider doing that.

I don't trust my laptop for anything. I have actually some really great posts that I am itching to post that utlized HDR, but I have to wait until I get home and on the CRT before I dare put them out there...

but since this is a comment and hidden away, I'll show you what my recent work in HDR generated.

Yeah, I can't stand when people go nuts with it and end up with a totally unnatural looking photo.

Are they really dark? Damn. I keep having that issue because my laptop monitor is ridiculously bright... Thanks for letting me know. Always enjoy how your critiques are actually useful.

Great colors, and a very good HDR. Now I feel I should practice this, I was following the thread in donor forum about HDR and got plenty of info to practice. This is a great composition.

Bhabesh

First I thought this is shot at Joshua tree,
You gave a character to this composition. A very neatly done composition I must say. And great creativity:)
Specially like the warm tone against the deep blue sky. However I agree with what you said about less HRD-y:)

Photomatix, ah ha...

Yes, HDR is fantastic, been using it myself recently, but don't go a little too crazy with it - these set of latest images make for nice silouettes, but are a little on the dark side.

Keep on shootin'

Thanks, Mark! I rather like this shot. I think I would like a bit more contrast, though. I bump up the contrast a bit, but apparently not enough now that I look at... :( It's not that bad, though. I'm trying to decide whether or not to change it.

Hugo,

I agree with you. The more I kept looking at this photo, the more I thought there needed to be more contrast. I may end up resubmitting this one soon.

Thanks!

Hi Morgan,

The combination in colours in this one is pretty exceptional, and the cloud cover adds a lot to this photo.

I think it could even use a bit more contrast - HDR, heh? I think applying a soft light layer mode to this photo would punch up the tones and contrast just a wee bit more, increasing the impact of this photo. Also my preference, though. It's all subjective....

Cheers,

Hugo

Thanks very much! It's three frames, shot in RAW, with -2EV, 0EV, +2EV. Photomatix does a tremendous job with HDR. I've been extremely impressed with that program. It's relatively cheap, too, at ~$100 USD.

Beautiful shot Morgan. Excellent composition. I thought this was an HDR shot given the shadow detail, very well done. How many frames did you merge and at what EV difference.
Regards,
Collin.

Glad to hear your rockin' out wit your band! Also glad to hear you're getting a chance to get out and take some photos again. Looking forward to seeing them!

Thanks for the compliment, man. I've been learning a lot of neat photography stuff recently. Finally started shooting in RAW a bit and got into HDR and have been learning ever more about PS (CS2 is ROCKIN!!!!!!!).

Ahoy, Mark! How's life? Mine's been taken over by school and the like. Went on a trip down to the Southern end of my state and took a ton of shots last week. It was a much needed break.

I think I've got like a ton of photos I've got to upload on here. I've got another site thing like this on deviant art, now (http://Capt-Morgan.deviantart.com). I've got one HDR shot that's pretty amazing (at least I think so), it's of a cactus during sunset, called "New Mexican Sunset". I'll be uploading it on here soon. :)

ROCK ON!!!!! WHEEEEEOOOOOOOOO!!!!
