Susan,

Thanks for your comment on this photo--we actually almost missed this from the road! Carmel is wonderful and scenic. HMB is often cold and foggy, especially during the summer, so I'm not surprised to hear that was your experience. If you visit in the fall it's much warmer (go figure . . .)

Regards,
Anne

Susan --

This is one of my favorite subjects: old buildings that are falling down. You're right, there is so much life that could have happened in them, why were they abandoned, what happened to the people. It makes them so intriguing.

I can't think of anything to add to John's suggestions, except that I'd love to see the next version!

Thanks also for your comment on my Tiger in a Pot--she's really a funny cat, especially when she's trying to be serious.

Regards,
Anne

Teunis--

This is a beautiful macro. I love the colors and the clarity of the stamen and petals. Well done!

Thanks so much for all your comments, and my apologies for not responding sooner. I've been working too much lately--my project will be finished soon and I will spend some more time on all your new photos!

Regards,
Anne

Fern --

Thanks very much for your comments on this photo--I really appreciate your thoughts.

For the last few days, this beach has been fogged in for most of the days and nights, so it'll be a few months before the sunsets come back. It is a beautiful place to be for a fabulous sunset!

Anne

David --

Thanks for your comments on this image. Oddly enough, I was thinking about going back and trying to isolate one of the ferns. Initially, I was trying to capture both of them because I was intrigued at the ferns coming out of the mossy rocks, but I agree that there's too much going on in this composition. The location (at the bottom of a ravine about 9-10' deep) makes it difficult to manuever for a really great compostion--but that doesn't mean I'll stop trying! :-)

Anne

This is simply beautiful. I love the shades of blue and the deep copper and green--what a beautiful day this must have been. Fantastic image!

Thanks also for your comments on my field photo.

Jenny --

This is a beautiful moment you've captured. The look on big sister's face is wonderful. This will be something for them to treasure as they grow up. Did you ever finsh the conversion to b&w? Personally, I like the color in the children but agree the background is a bit distracting. It's still a wonderful moment in their lives.

Thanks for your comments on my Tiger in a Pot, and my apologies for taking so long to reply. I do appreciate your words. Work deadlines seem to be running my time lately--I'll be happy when this project is done and I have more time to play again.

Anne

What a great portrait of your dad--and what a tribute on his birthday. He looks like the kind of dad who is always there for you! Congratulations to you both!

Christine--

I'm glad I'm not the only one who goes back for the "perfect" photo! lol I've been to this place about 3 times since I discovered it, and it's almost a two-hour drive! It's on the way to Yosemite, so I get a extra payoffs. I just wish I could figure a way to get the ugly brown cliff out of the photo without falling into the river here!

Anne

wow! I got an award! wa-hoo! :-) This field is on a road I don't travel very often, and when I saw the colors and the lines . . . well, I'm just glad I had the camera with me!

Thanks for all your comments--sorry it's taken me so long to reply--work is temporarily taking over my life. I can't wait til this project is done and I have more time to play!

This is a great image--so glad you were able to save it, but so sorry about your others. The light spots on this are really fantastic, and the colors are beautiful. Well done!

Thanks for your comment on my Tioga Lake photo. This was my first time in this part of Yosemite while the snow was still on the ground, so I was very excited to be there. I would love to see Zion, I've heard so much about it.

Anne

Hi Dany --

This is an interesting image. I like the lighting, and the colors are great. The way the trees are lined up is visually pleasing. The only thing I find distracting is the pole in the center of the photo--it takes away from the I see there's a whole line of them, so I'm not sure how you could compensate. Overall, very nice shot.

Anne
