An interesting monument, Del, and one I'm not familiar with! You've got a good point of view, and I like the b/w treatment. Dave.

The shot seems empty. Why is this part of the monument so important? Is it about the geometry of the sceene, or symmetry? If this is a journalistic shot what is the story behind?

Thank you for your nice comments on my Amaryllis. Yes, I do save them over from year to year and multiply them. If you want some details on just how I do it write me at metheny@cox.net. Del.

Ours, Apple Blossoms, have just opened two flowers today! The red one, Red Lion, had eight cups on two stems. What a magic colour! I know you're breeding them, so to say, I wonder if we can manage to keep them come in bloom next year, too! My wife saw yours last year and decided she must have them this year! YT

Really like the lighting, colors, clarity, and details. The contrast between the grainlines and the smooth-tentured boards and the wrinkled, holey, multi-colored, and diverse diagonal veins of the leaf is very pleasing - and you are correct - very interesting. Even though the leaf is old and wrinkled with visable flaws, it is still beautiful in its own way. (Kinda like people as they age, huh?)
The more centered composition really works well in this shot. The hints of other dead vegitation peaking through the boards gives you a clue as to the eventual fate of this lone survivor of a tree's lush summer canopy. Thanks for sharing. Jan
