I have to say the light balancing in the dark has more to do with the D300, It is amazing for extreme light conditions.

Might want to look at the Sigma 10-20mm for way less $$$...it is a good lens.

Hi Laurie,
I see that the top is blown out of what would otherwise in my mind be a spectacular shot. Have you tried a graduated ND filter? you would need a .6 or .9 for this shot to get it all in.
I use a LEE 4"x6" filter system because the Coken is to small and they create a lot of vignetting.

Hi Harry,
At the moment I do not sell my images. Every time I think about doing it, I then remember all the work of trying to be seen and then marketing yourself with advertisement and then more promotion, as well as trying all the different methods that you need to do to try to make consistent $$$. It just doesn't make sense to me. In the end all you end up doing is the business stuff and a lot less shooting images that I like to shoot. It seems to me that the way a photographer actually makes good money is by giving seminars. Fortunately I make good money selling paintings and don't have to worry about selling photos. But at the same time they are both connected, as my photos will eventually turn into paintings, which sell for way more money then I would ever get for one image. Yes I have weird sleeping hours, but then I don't have a family to take care of anymore, they are all grown and out on their own....so I can do all the weird night time internet stuff I want and sleep in for the morning.

Hi Gaetan.....I was a brat, but not affiliated with the military. My father was a local sculptor until he moved. Me along with him....
Wow, Ottawa, there is some amazing landscape north of there but you will have to get used to green and blue with out the reds you enjoy now...although it is granite country and that really makes for some interesting outcrops especially from a canoe ...hmmmm...better get a lot of bug spray, they are the size of elephants!

Personally I would be wondering where the watering hole was.
But in contemporary times...the vista would be stunning enough to hang out and enjoy the view not having to think about survival.

Hi Alina,
Yes, we have a fantastic country full of mountains still wild for the most part. And yet, I love Patagonia, as much or more, having been to many different parts of Argentina and Chile in the last 2 years.
