Hi Harry,
What looks like over sharpening isn't in fact the case. What happens with panoramic shots on "Usefilm" due to their bizarre compression dynamics, gives it that look, until you get to see it in full size. But unfortunately this requires a full membership to get the privilege to see that this is the case. It is to bad that this is the case, and it almost keeps me from posting large panoramics for that reason.
As to color...I love color, being a professional artist/painter..what can i say, other then color evokes emotions that helps convey how I feel about the place i am photographing....it is a preferance that i choose to use.
Thanks for your kind critique. It is not often that one gets that in the comments...Cheers!

Awesome composition. The DOF combined with the personage in the foreground draws my vision deep into your image. A daring and successful shot.

Hi Edward,

I push the contrast in Photoshop a bit, then add some saturation as well....I love color, as a painter, I find that it helps express an emotional quality in any image.

Hi Eb,

I am sorry to hear you are not posting on Usefilm. I get pissed with it at times and just leave it alone for a time. Then at times I find it feels good to just post for my own pleasure. Hope you find it in your heart to post here and there...cheers!

Ha-ha Avi....I was wondering when someone would bring this up...I have to say it pissed me off that I somehow managed to chop the top off. At least you are honest about this. I can't believe more have not brought this up. What is the value of the other comments if they don't even bring this up, what is the value of critique?
Hey thanks again!

I like every thing about this one, except I think that you could bring up the darks in levels a bit. I think that would enhance the impact just a bit more.

Well I have to qualify that last statement. I did not get to the top because a huge wind storm hit when I got to the ridge that knocked many of us off our feet. So i thought it wise to head back. But many of us were further along and in the lee of the wind. So they managed to top out.....was amazing to see the Chinstrap penguins that far up nesting on the ridge. That was totally unexpected. What a haul for them to go up and down.

Hi Edward,
Yes, despite all the dower weather we did 2 trips per day. It was a life changing experience that I would love to experience again. Here is a link to a blog I wrote for a photo software company if you are interested:
http://community.acdsee.com/pro/category/tim-schumm/

I went to Torres del Paine, Chile too on that trip.
