I think you are absolutely correct Dave, though I have no way to check for sure I think this must be ex-navy. I think the gun on the front is a small punt gun.

Wonderful. Its the typical kind of boat that is used for the arrival of "Sint Nicolaas" in Holland ( as he came from Spain ) to bring gifts foe the sweet children.

You're a devil Nicholas!! You captured some of the best features of my favorite aircraft of all times. The shape of the wings has always fascinated me. Such a feat of engineering from an era with slide rules in place of computers.

The shot was manually focused and hand held so I think it's just slightly out of focus as it was coming directly towards me (and I couldn't quite keep up!!)
