I'm pulling the shutter release cord to take the picture on the 4x5 view camera I was using. I took the picture, thats why its a self portrait of me and my special lady friend.

I like the harsh light but thats not what I was going for. On my screen they seem density corrected. I will down load each by it self with its correct density...Not a donor, so one a day...

If I would have had classmates like that I would stil be in school. I like this pose and the model is working it for you but I have to agree that her facial expression doesn't match her pose.
I would ask her for a re-shoot! Over and over and over...

Indeed it feels natural and not at all like the typical cheesy posed child photo. The fact that the camera is at the same level with her also gives it an interesting feeling instead of an upshot as one would expect.

a lot of pictures of young girls in cute poses can turn out cheap looking, like they came from jcpenny. this one looks very natural and it doesn't look like you were trying to tell the girl what to do. it looks very sweet and natural. i also like how out of focus the background is.
