Great colours in the reflections and a great combination of colours in the foreground. The further you go into the image though the less dramatic it becomes.

I prefer this version, the reflected light is beautiful and mysterious.

Nice, great light and nice textures. Have you seen Joe Cornish's blue and gold image that is quite similar of rocks in the shadow of a cliff with the reflected light of the sun lighting the puddles? This is very similar and that's quite a compliment.

Perfect colours and some wonderful textures. Shame you didn't have a large format camera in your pocket so you could pick out every tiny detail ;-)

Stunning image. The long exposure has produced a beautiful symmetry between sea and sky and the rock and horizon are perfectly placed. Very Michael Kenna.

Very nice, Teunis. Great pano crop and I love the cows in the foreground.

Haven't been to your portfolio for a while John. This is the first image I've seen that uses the HDR facility. It's a great composition and the light's fantastic but it does look very digital, almost plastic with no apparent texture to anything, particularly on the wooden pillars and the building. It's the same effect I see when digital images have their saturation increased or are printed beyond 300dpi. It will be interesting to see if you can get better results as you get to grips with the technology. In the meantime, it's a heck of a picture but perhaps undermined by the limitations of the capture medium.

Nice study of light John. This image is all about mood and the attractive scene is almost secondary. Very good.

Nicely framed, excellent composition and the partial de-saturation works very well. Great shot.

Fantastic composition and the negative colour film produces just the right tones in the crowd, digital wouldn't have done this.

I like this. Very nice contrast between the almost geometric drop and the irregular features of the rocks.

Stefan, I took a spot meter reading off the rocks in the middle distance, I find this generally works well when shooting streams in lowish light.

Yes, the word beck is, I think, a Viking word, as is fell (the Cumbrian word for large hill) and there are many more. This area of Britain was in Viking hands for centuries and there was a strong Norsk presence even after the main Viking presence ended.

Nice colours and interesting composition but the depth of field is too limited, everything needs to be in focus or at least the tree.
